John Turner
John Turner from Livingstone wanted a new kitchen fitted but was not sure which companies were reputable and offered a comprehensive service from design to installation. Luckily for Mr Turner, the people fitting his windows were former customers of Mulberry Kitchen Design and they recommended our company to him.
Mr Turner had an image in his mind of what the room would look like once it was completed. He was hoping to create a kitchen diner from the separate kitchen and dining room, but was worried that the dividing wall was load bearing and this might not be possible. We have extensive experience of issues such as this and arranged everything on Mr Turner’s behalf, including having designs drawn up by a structural engineer. Next we opened up the two rooms, using a beam for support.
After carefully considering the various styles in our kitchen product range, Mr Turner opted for the Malmo graphite and porcelain doors. The handleless design of this particular range gives any kitchen a sleek and contemporary look. He also opted for Mistral solid surface worktops and these complemented the doors perfectly. Inspired by the natural beauty of stone and quartz, these acrylic-based solid surfaces are both aesthetically pleasing and practical. Mr Turner had chosen Hotpoint Luce appliances, including an induction hob, so the kitchen offered many modern conveniences. An attractive 900 chimney hood was a fantastic choice as it created an interesting focal point.
Our service offered much more than simply fitting Mr Turner’s chosen kitchen as we took care of every detail to ensure that our client was completely satisfied. Every wall was replastered and we added LED spotlights and under lights. We even undertook the decorating for our client, adding feature wallpaper to one wall and painting the others. The old electrical box was replaced and we blocked off the wall to the living room by installing a glass panel door and added a matching door into the hallway for continuity. Nothing is too much bother for Mulberry Kitchen Design!
Attention to detail was key in making sure that the kitchen had a quality finish. Matters such as adding practical, quality flooring and replacing fascias and skirting boards completed the finish. The addition of a graphite radiator had several benefits. First, it served the practical purpose of heating the room. Second, it complemented the finish on the kitchen doors. Finally, it added an interesting feature to the room.
We also took into account the lifestyle needs of Mr Turner. He was keen to have a television in his new kitchen diner, so we added small units to one end of the kitchen for the TV to sit on. Two taller units were added for lamps ordered by Mr Turner. These little details made sure that the room was a great space to relax in as well as serving a practical purpose.
The client was astonished that all the work was completed with two weeks and to such a high standard. He was particularly surprised that we even cleaned the windows for him before we left! In fact, he was so delighted that he wrote us an absolutely glowing review on Free Index, Britain's largest independent reviewer for home improvements. If you are looking for a new kitchen and expect the same level of service that Mr Turner received, then why not take a look at Mulberry Kitchen Design's products, or call us on 01355 587281?
