Claire & Dougie McConnell
Claire and Dougie McConnell from East Kilbride knew it was time for a kitchen revamp. With their children getting older, the couple felt that the breakfast bar in their kitchen no longer suited their family life. As well as this, their old kitchen was in desperate need of some TLC, as the couple were experiencing issues with water in the ceiling.
The McConnell family got in touch with the team at Mulberry Kitchen Designs to see how we could help. Originally, the couple planned to have the ceiling fixed by a building company after we had completed their new kitchen, but after our inspection we advised them to have it completed before their new kitchen was fitted – and we fixed the problem for them.
Once this issue was solved, the team got to work installing the striking new kitchen. Stunning fresco white door frontals were fitted on the kitchen units, which contrasted beautifully with the basalt slate axiom worktops. Claire wanted up stands for the worktops, and chose a wonderful deep plum paint on this wall to bring the white kitchen units to life. This deep colour provided an intriguing contrast to the light grey paint Claire chose for the rest of the kitchen.
A shining new 5 burner Hotpoint hob was also installed, complete with a sparkling black glass splashback and a contemporary curved glass hood. An integrated dishwasher was also installed. Pergo slate flooring was chosen to match the slate worktops, tying the whole look together. To light up the impressive new kitchen, LED low voltage spot lights were chosen, as well as LED under lights and plinth lights, so every corner of the McConnell’s new kitchen is illuminated.
The Mulberry team didn’t stop there. As well as installing the new kitchen, the team also updated all facings and skirting boards, and we also installed a brand new radiator to blend in with the new kitchen design.
Overall, both Claire and Dougie were delighted with their new kitchen and the impressive and the impressive and thorough job we did for them.
