Out With The Old & In With The New

“Out with the old and in with the new” - this was definitely the case for Mr and Mrs Firth’s kitchen (and roof, as you’ll see in our pictures below), which hadn’t had any work in over twenty years. The couple from Cambuslang came to Mulberry, after receiving a recommendation from a friend, with several requirements. The first, and perhaps most important requirement, was that they were looking for a quality kitchen. The second requirement was for some building work to be carried out in order to open up the space and accommodate a tall fridge freezer and an oven and microwave unit. Lastly, Mr and Mrs Firth wanted a fresh, modern kitchen that they could enjoy with friends and family.

After listening to the Firth’s and coming up with a design that they fell in love with, it was time for the hard work to begin. Every square inch of the room received the full Mulberry TLC treatment. We removed the existing ceiling which was badly water damaged from the roof above; plastered the entire room to give it the sleek finish that Mr and Mrs Firth were after; replaced all of the facings and skirting’s and finished off with a new Pergo wood effect floor which continued through in to the couple’s dining room.



To maintain the luxurious feel we used painted shaker doors in a neutral almond colour and beautiful Silestone countertops and matching sills - which create a more finished look. We also installed Sensio lighting, a brand new radiator, fitted a stylish Blanco Composite undermount sink (which comes in 12 amazing colours and creates a real focal point in the room), and finally finished off with Bosch appliances.





The light, fresh colours used throughout really help to open up the space, which was an initial requirement of the Firths’. The light floods through the windows and doors reflecting off the Silestone countertops, which again helps to create the sense of a bigger space. Selecting a range of neutral colours is not only great for opening up a room but they are also timeless. Due to the fresh, modern design, quality products and precise craftsmanship Mr and Mrs Firth now have a kitchen they are in love with and are proud to entertain in.

From start to finish the job took Mulberry two weeks to complete – meaning Mr and Mrs Firth didn’t have to wait too long before hosting their first dinner party in their wonderful new kitchen.
