Mr & Mrs Mullen
After having the same kitchen for more than 20 years, Mr and Mrs Mullen of Stewartfield, East Kilbride, decided that it was time for a new look. When looking for a kitchen design service to undertake the job, they chose Mulberry Kitchen Design after finding us through a local advertisement. The couple were impressed with our all-inclusive quote.
They said it was our honesty and down-to-earth approach that initially appealed to them and they were also impressed with what they saw in our showroom. They preferred the option to see the kitchens in person first, rather than just browsing a catalogue. The latter is all that many of our competitors offer. We gave them samples to consider over a few days and didn't put pressure on them to make an immediate decision, an approach they found refreshing.
The fact that we would fully project manage the design and installation of the new kitchen from start to finish was another benefit of using our company. In comparison, other kitchen design companies often subcontract many aspects of the project to tradesmen. By fully project managing the installation of Mr and Mrs Mullen's new kitchen, we were better able to coordinate the work, meet the deadlines and complete the work with neither shortages or remedial. It also meant that we could continuously update our clients about the progress throughout the project.
After careful deliberation, Mr and Mrs Mullen decided that the Milbourne Alabaster kitchen from the Second Nature Range was exactly what they were looking for. Practicality was a major concern for the couple. As they are getting older, they wanted to make sure that the kitchen suited their needs and each area was easily accessible. With this in mind, the couple opted for the Kessebohmer Arena style white and chrome carousel added to a 900mm corner unit. A pull-out base unit in the same style and Mistral toffee solid surfaces completed the kitchen.
Appliances and accessories were another important factor in creating a functional yet stunning kitchen. The Mullens chose an Elicia black oven hood, a sparkly black splash back, a Bosch built-in oven and hob, a built-in Bosch dishwasher and other free-standing Bosch appliances. They also opted for a Blanco bowl and half undercount sink with a Blanco Spirex tap to go. The couple also had a utility area. Again, practicality was important. For this area, they chose a Blanco over-mount sink with a Blanco Cleo tap. Duropal laminate worktops added a stylish finish to this area of their home.
Creating an excellent finish is very important to us at Mulberry Kitchen Design. We added new sills and installed a tall designer radiator to the kitchen as well as a smaller radiator to the utility area. To finish the kitchen, we painted the walls in a vibrant green to give a modern and sophisticated look to the kitchen.
On completion of the work, Mr and Mrs Mullen said they are so pleased with what we have achieved and will write us a very positive review on Free Index…which was nice!
